Lifeshare Food and Clothes Bank was set up by Deb Chapman over three years ago.it is currently managed by Beth Taylor. As a church, we believe that we are called to look after the most vulnerable in society, the least, lost, hurting and the poor. Setting up a food bank was a practical way in which we as a church could support our local community and families.
Lifeshare food bank is based at Antioch church and is located on the right-hand side as you come through the foyer. It is small independent food bank and raises money through fundraising, cash for clothes and donations from the local community. We are also supported by a 50+ lunch club and all profits from Crazy Masie’s tuck shop go toward the food bank. Our local community, schools, ASDA and churches are also a great support.
We always welcome donations, in the past few months we have seen a major increase in the number of people accessing the food bank. This means it is harder for us to sustain ourselves as we are only a small food bank. If you would like to donate any tinned goods (if they are in date) we will accept them.
If you need a food parcel, you can obtain a food voucher through Citizen’s Advice, Family support workers, the Wallich, Social Services etc.… or through speaking to the Lifeshare manager Beth.
