The Wheelhouse Café is the heartbeat at the centre of Antioch - and a great place to meet!

Antioch Centre runs a community café called ‘The Wheelhouse Cafe’ and it's currently open every Wednesday and Thursday between 10am and 2pm - last food orders 1.30pm.

The Cafe is named ‘Wheelhouse’ because the Centre is the place where the Stepney Wheel was manufactured - we have a blue plaque on the wall outside Antioch.

Wheelhouse Cafe is the heartbeat of the Centre is designed to be a safe, warm and welcoming space for everyone. There is so much going on at the Centre that we wanted to create a space where people can gather, chat, eat and drink and relax. We love to support groups in the community and currently have a FAN (Friends and Neighbours) group that runs every Wednesday 9:30-10:30am.

The Wheelhouse Cafe is a warm space and we aim to provide affordable, nutritious food for everyone to access. We have a ‘pay it forward’ scheme that allows people to contribute towards a meal and drinks for someone that may not be able to eat or drink otherwise.

We are currently looking for volunteers with a heart to serve their local community and to make a practical difference to peoples lives. If you are interested, call in for a chat or drop us an email.

The Café is also available for hire outside of the normal opening times and is a great space for:

✅ Coffee mornings

✅ Informal meetings

✅ Community gatherings
